ALL BEERS SERVED UP IN OIL ON HARDWOOD

It was a difficult task choosing the beer for this presentation. Everyone probably feels I left their favorite beer out of the show. It was because resources were limited as well as wall space, time, and manpower for the exhibition. I was forced to limit the series to ten.
The color was very important when choosing the beers to be illustrated in the paintings; I took photos of many more than what is represented in oil. The beers chosen fit the spectrum best. I was concerned about making the transition believable and smooth. I wanted the beers to look like they faded from the lightest pale yellow to the dankest, blackish brown
The repetitious simplicity creates a visual harmony. Rhythm, as in a Beethoven scale, the progression is even but descending. When placed next to each other in a row the body of work exudes a larger feel. The wooden sides play a larger role in the overall composition.
Although the set is great as a group there is merit in every panel. I do not feel any of these paintings are weaker than any other. When you stare at an individual painting you are not only appreciating the intricacies of form within the reflections, but it brings up the connotation that this is a painting of beer. It reminds the viewer of every other time they have been staring into a pint. What conversation was occurring, why were you enjoying that pint, this connotation begins to slip into the mind even if you are attempting to enjoy the painting formally.
Formally, Contextually, I am glad you chose to enjoy a pint.
